Every person has the same allotment of minutes in each day. How effectively they use those minutes is what separates high performers from underachievers.
Top producers have one thing in common – self discipline. That’s why they constantly seek improvement and maximize their use of time.
Leadership expert John Maxwell found three characteristics of disciplined leaders:
- They have short- and long-term goals.
- They have a plan for achieving those goals.
- They have a desire that motivates them to continue working to accomplish those goals.
If you want to build an all-star team, you have to be an all-star leader. As a leader, you should never be satisfied with your current level of performance. Instead, strive for higher levels of achievement.
Make setting goals fun. Make the goals meaningful. Be sure they're attainable. And track your team’s progress.
Reward people when they meet their goals. Praise them when they exceed their goals. Coach them when they are not meeting the mark.
When your entire team is on the same page – and making the most of the 1,440 minutes in each day – you’ll be amazed by the level of performance you can achieve.
