Fourth of July snuck up on me this year, probably because it falls on a weekend. Judging from this week’s Twitter comments, I know I’m not alone.
When planning my to-do list this week, I budgeted five work days instead of four. That means I have to scramble mid-week to ensure I got everything accomplished. It really wasn’t a problem, because I consistently break down big projects into smaller tasks or micro-tasks.
Do you have items on your to-do list that you carry over day-to-day or week-to-week?
If so, you probably view the items as too immense to tackle. If you cut a huge project into smaller pieces, you can make significant progress toward crossing the item off your list.
When you cross off smaller tasks, you’ll get a sense of satisfaction because you’ve made progress. And before you know it the project will be done.
Soon, you can begin each week with a fresh list. You’ll enter the weekend happy at all you achieved and start Monday with hope instead of regret.
With everything accomplished, I can now enjoy a worry-free day with my family.
